VK appoints two former Yandex execs as vice presidents
MOSCOW, Oct 3 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company VK has appointed two former employees of tech giant Yandex as new vice presidents, VK said on Tuesday in a statement.
“VK’s team was joined by Vice President of Advertising Technologies Pyotr Popov and Vice President, Director of Information Security Anton Karpov,” the company said.
Popov developed at Yandex search and advertising technologies, among others, for more than 10 years. At VK, Popov will focus on effectiveness of the company’s advertising platforms and strengthening of marketing technologies that solve media and performance goals of advertisers.
Karpov replaced Alexei Volkov who decided to leave the company. At Yandex, Karpov headed the security service and was in charge of information, physical, and economic safety of the company for more than 10 years.
“Under (Karpov’s) leadership, the team will continue to promote the program of protection of the users and their data, VK Protect, and ensure practical safety of VK products,” the company said.
